When we come to the Lord in prayer, He hears us. 1 John 5:14 says, "if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." When we intentionally pray over our family and come to the Lord with our requests, He hears us. Join us this week as we focus on the family!
He gives it to us in a way that is far more abundant and delicious and beautiful than we deserve or need! Think of all the things on this earth that reflect God’s good and abundant grace: sunsets, good food, air conditioning, loved ones, your favorite movie… these things are all God’s grace.
Between the lines, I could read the tears he cried over me in prayer, advocating for God to save his little girl’s life. I could sense his utter defeat in attempting to fix me, and how he could only resort to trust the Creator of the universe to take things into His own hands. As an earthly father, he could only do so much. Only my Heavenly Father could do what Dad could not.
There’s only one number one spot in your life. Once I stepped back and took some space, I realized, I was not giving that number one spot to God. Ask yourself: who’s in the number one spot in your life?
The only real way we will be mothers who are devoted to God with deep abiding love and fear of the Lord is to understand His love for us. When we cry out to Him, His ears perk up and He turns His face towards us. (Psalm 40) When you're having a day like you’ve woke up in the pit before you even had a chance to fall into one, He is able to place your feet on the Rock of your salvation. He doesn't leave us wandering in life, and He certainly doesn't leave us flailing in motherhood.
