He reminds us through His Word that even when everything hits the fan and the circumstances aren’t changing, He is with us. He knows pain. He knows suffering. He knows heartache. It’s obvious the enemy loves to twist the way we see things, isn’t it? The truth in Romans 12:2 - the fact that I can actually renew my mind, and transform the way that I think through God’s truth - has been life-changing for me. Before working for Mercy, I never understood the power or even necessity of speaking scripture-based truth out loud over my life. It was exactly what I was missing in my journey towards freedom, and I’m so thankful for this life-changing tool. I’ve come to realize, more often than not, I don’t “feel” like doing it, but in those moments when I don’t feel like it - that’s when I need it the most.
One of my goals for the year is to seek God with more intentionality. I heard a powerful message a few months ago, and one of the main points was that many of God’s children don’t live out the promises of God because we are not familiar with them. God began challenging me to get deeper into His Word. Do you also want to grow in your knowledge of scripture? Getting into the Word, in my experience, can be a bit of a daunting task. Perhaps, like me, you’re not sure where to start!
